Keep Sharing The Good News

Acts 5:20 NKJV 

“Go, stand in the temple, and speak to the people all the words of this life.

1 Thessalonians 2:8 NIV

So, we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

We Like Comfort Zone.

In most cases, humans don’t like changes. They want to stay where they are. They don’t like trying new things because of fear. They call that fear of the unknown. They prefer working on the template that is already there.

I recall that in the university where I studied, there were folks who were afraid to start doing their assignments, just in case they got it all wrong. They would wait until someone started something, then would ask for it as a sample. This can also happen in our spiritual life. We may rely on other people when it comes to serving God. We may even be afraid to share our spiritual experiences with God with others. We may be afraid to witness for the Lord.

He Gives us His Ability 

I have been in a similar situation, particularly when it comes to sharing the good news with strangers. I’m not talking about preaching in church. I mean going out to share your life’s special experiences with the Lord. I mean sharing the good news of salvation. It’s not as difficult as we might think. We just need to be obedient. Then, take a step of faith, doing what burns in your heart. The Lord is ever ready to make it good. The Holy Spirit will honor you and give you the ability to perform. Apostle Paul gave his testimony here. He said that he can do all things through Christ, who gives him strength. That is to say, He gives you the ability to serve or do anything for Him.

Just Do What the Lord Has Impressed Into Your Heart

I am not saying you do what you see others doing. I rather suggest that you do what you are being led to do. Just do what He Has put in your heart. This week, I decided to do something that has been burning in my heart. I went out just to meet one person with whom I could share some good news. I did not want to bother about what to say and how to say it. I took my notepad just in case I needed to note something. It was a very awesome experience. All I can tell you is that people are hungry for God out there. Many do not know what to do to serve God.

Share Your Burning Desires

It was getting dark when I met this one gentleman. I greeted him cheerfully, and we made introductions. He gave me a kind smile and welcomed me gladly. Without wasting any time, I explained my intentions and motivations to him. He listened to me as I shared with him my passion for sharing the good news with people. I told me that I needed partners to work with. I told him it sounded like it was one of them because he was willing to listen. When are we going to do it together?’ I asked him this question just to keep our conversation going. He laughed a little and told me about his busy schedule. We exchanged contacts and agreed to create time to work together. 

The Harvest is Plentiful 

The following day, I decided to go out during lunch. I planned to buy something so I could share it with someone. Just before getting into the shop, I found one gentleman seated there alone, I gave up the idea of buying something. I approached and spoke to him, and was very friendly, we ended up talking about how we could work together to reach the world with the good news. We agree that being in church alone is not enough. The world out there needs us. As we were discussing, five more people joined us. I told them to be free to participate in our discussion, but they kept smiling, and they seemed to be enjoying what was being shared. 

As I reflected on what happened this week, it came to my mind that the Lord Jesus Christ declared that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. This also refers to those who will come across this message. Let us partner together to share the good news of salvation.

Continue Sowing Seeds of Faith, Hope, and Love.

1 Corinthians 3:8 -9: The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their labor. 9 For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.

I like this picture here, painted by the Apostle Paul. What you are doing for the Lord is like working in a garden in the natural. One may be good at planting seeds, another may be an expert in watering, another in fertilizing the soil, and others in doing cultivation and weeding. The Lord will give both of them their reward. 

Reward For Our Labour 

The Bible says you will be rewarded according to your labor. Just do it in faith, hope, and love. The Lord is watching you. Remember that He is the one who gives the increase. Do not despise the little things you are doing for the Lord. He says even if you give a cup of cold water to one of His children in love, you will surely receive a reward from Him.

Be willing to serve the Lord with all you have. He has given you His ability by His spirit. Step out in faith and use what He has given to you. Keep it simple because it is not complicated. You don’t even have to be tempted to do what you see others doing. I am not even suggesting that you follow what I shared here. Just do something that is unique. The Lord will always create opportunities for you to minister if you trust Him
