My Passion and Core Desires For Ministry
My passion and core desires for ministry is based on these scriptures cited below . I came to discover through experience, that we serve the living God. He does not change like shifting shadows . He is the same yesterday , today and forever .
He knows our hearts and inner motivations, and by His anointing He is ready to help us fulfil our calling in Him . The scriptures cited below are the main reasons why I have so much passion to serve the Lord .
Luke 4: 1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he ate nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
3 And the devil said to him, If you are the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man will not live by bread alone, but by every [rhema] word of God.
5 And the devil, taking him up into a high mountain, showed to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of [chronos] time.
6 And the devil said to him, All this authority I will give you, and the glory of them: for that has been handed over to me; and to whoever I choose to give it.
7 If you therefore will worship me, all will be yours.
8 And Jesus answered and said to him, Get behind me, Satan: for it is written, You will worship the Lord your God, and him only will you serve.
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here:
10 For it is written, He will give his angels orders concerning you, to guard you:
11 And in [their] hands they will lift you up and carry you, in case you dash your foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus answering said to him, It is said, You will not test the Lord your God.
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation [peirazo], he went away from him until an appointed [kairos] time.
14 And Jesus returned in the [dynamic] power of the Spirit into Galilee: and his fame spread throughout the whole region.
15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
17 And there was handed to him the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those that are bruised,
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
20 And he closed the book, and he gave [it] again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all those that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say to them, This day this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.
Acts 10: 34 Then Peter opened [his] mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:
35 But in every nation he that fears him, and works righteousness, is accepted with him.
36 The word which [God] sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:)
37 That [rhema] word, [I say], you know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with [dynamic] power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.
Below Are The Main Passions I Have For Ministry
1. To Teach The Word Of God Correctly .
The scripture that I quoted as my first example indicates that Jesus Christ started His ministry by laying the proper foundation,that is, teaching people why He came into this world,giving them His clear vision why He came into this world, then later He demonstrated with His lifestyle, that is to say , He taught and performed what He was suppose to do.
He told them that the scripture would be fulfilled in their hearing, in other words, they will witness what is written in the scriptures . He came to fulfil the written scripture. It is written in one place in the Bible; ‘ Behold, I have come—In the volume of the book it is written of Me—To do Your will, O God.’ ” (Heb 10:9)
That is my passion too. Iam waiting on God, because I am convinced that He will fulfil His purpose through the ministry He gave to me .
I Have decided to make myself available to be used as an instrument to extend His kingdom . I am making myself available,to be used in teaching His word the way He reveals to me.I believe that by His Spirit , His Word will bear everlasting fruits .
I have discovered, through experience that , His Word is the most important tool that opens people’s hearts by breaking the chains of darkness, if it is taught correctly . I have ministered the Word in many occasions and in various places , and have witnessed people being set free. I will share on that later in the process.
2. To Set The Captives Free
Some people who do not have Jesus Christ as their Lord and saviour are more like those in prison in the natural .They are actually being in prison spiritually ,they are bound, and need to be set free. I would like to start prison ministry . That is, visiting those in prison like what is written in Mathew 25 .
Its my passion , and I need other people that I can team up with in my location, and then carry out the great commission together , to win more for the kingdom of God . In doing that we will be wise, and fulfilling the scriptures , because the Bible says these words ; Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever( Daniel 12:3).
3. To See The Sick Healed ( Flow In The Healing Ministry)
Sickness is an oppression from the devil, the Bibles says Jesus Christ healed those who were sick or oppressed by the devil. It says they are under the power of the devil . Over the years , I have discovered that if I make myself available to the Lord for those who were sick in prayer, He honored what I was doing .
I remember I few years ago, one gentleman came to me , because he had an appointment with the doctor, he was diagnosed with kidney stones, and he booked for scanning and operation , we stood together in prayer of agreement, just a night before seeing the doctor. The next day , the scan did not show anything,the kidney stones disappeared, and his kidneys completely healed and restored . This is just one of the testimonies.
As a minister of the Gospel, I have been invited to minister in many places, and have witnessed the hand of God, particularly in the healing ministry, I am not trying to boast here, but I am sharing with you what I witnessed as I made myself available as a vessel to be used by God. I witnessed people being healed from complicated conditions that I cannot mention here.
The healing I am talking about here may include the inner healing, that is healing of past bad experiences that causes pain in the lives of certain individuals .These bad experiences may cause blockages as a result of the person being bitter against those who hurt or abused them. If this is prolonged enough , it can cause spiritual paralysis that only God Almighty can heal . It will be beyond medical science .
4. To Visit Hospitals To Pray For The Sick.
I know that this one is very sensitive, but I have tried it before, and it worked so well. We used to go in groups during evangelism, and part of our assignment was to visit and pray for the sick. We always received testimonies of miraculous healing, and as a result, some even gave their lives to Christ . All I can tell you is that God , if you simple believe the true Gospel that His servants proclaim , you will be set free.
5. To Lay A Proper Foundation For The Young People( Children And Youth ).
We have done this before with my wife, the first church we led had many young people, that is children and the youth . My wife took charge of the children’s church, and I was responsible for youth and adults .It was a great harvest.
We were in a small village, and within a short space of time, almost the whole village came to know about us. Well, I did not say that they all visited us, but rather knew that we existed, and that we were making a difference, a visible mark.
At the moment, I am working with the youth at my work place . I am helping them to discover themselves in Christ. Most of them are members of the Scripture Union (US), I am also coordinating the Scripture Union in my work place . I am a teacher by profession , and I meet a lot of people including parents.
The Lord Has used me to minister to many through my profession . I ministered to many families through their children .
My core desire and passion is to see people being made free by knowing the truth. Jesus says that we shall know the truth, and the truth shall make us free. The Lord told me that my ministry is so simple, and I should not make it complicated, and as a result, many may not take advantage of it, this is because human being like sophisticated things .
They like explaining things scientifically. But, not to say that science is a problem. I studied science myself, but all I can tell you is that, science itself has some limitations. But, God Almighty is not limited by science .
I am of the option that, if the youth and young children could be given the right foundation and proper pattern on how the body of Christ should work, then we will not have a lot of problems in this world .
6. To Minister To Those That Are In Need In The Church, Communities And Societies .
These may include those who are not working,and they have temporal needs.I may not be rich enough to give them food, clothes ,shelter and other human needs, but what I know is that the Lord Has given me skills to help others to survive in this world.
I want to make myself available, and we can also team up, and combine our resources so as to make a difference in this world, by building the church of God according to the pattern that He desires . The Bible records how the disciples of Jesus Christ combined their resources in the book of Acts to minister to the needy. One part that I like is that there was no needy person among them.
Please allow me to ask this question. How many of God’s children are in need in the church today ? I believe everyone knows the answer to this question, and I am not going to answer it here. I believe you can agree with me that God’s children are in need of many temporal things, and many of them are running to the world for help. Many of them find themselves in difficult traps just because someone offered them some help with strings attached.
It is time for the church to arise and take its proper place in this world,and to fulfil that ,we should not be found in need just like everyone else in the world . We should be helping those in the world , so that they also experience and witness the goodness of the Lord in their lives .
7. To Follow The Proper Pattern In Building The Body Of Christ( The Church Of God).
This is a very crucial thing to take into consideration .Over the years, and through the teachings of Apostles Les .D. Crause and His ministry , I came to discover that most of the problems in the church are associated with what the Church is doing, particularly that which is not in line with God’s order of doing things.
Even as a young person, I always had the impression that there is something that the church is not doing right. I did not have answers by then, but as I grew in the Lord, and reflecting back on how I was raised as a young person, I discovered that in a way, my parents did not follow the pattern on how to raise children in the home .
In the process of my spiritual growth , I came across the teachings laid out clearly by Apostle Les.D. Crause . Its basically about God’s pattern of doing things in the earth . He taught about God’s pattern for His church, family,that is (father, mother and children ,helpers, finances and many others).
I believe the reasons for the many problems even in the Church is a result of the wrong foundation or pattern we have laid, starting with parenting . But, its never too late with God. In fact, God is waiting for someone to be available as a vessel to use, and as you read this, I believe you should be challenged to do something in your sphere of contact.
I may not be able to do what you can do because I am in a different environment, but if we can all act where are, we will definitely witness some outstanding results . With God, all things are possible, and united together , we can build the kingdom of God according to His plan, purpose and pattern .
